Frederick Clarkson
Senior Research Analyst,
Political Research Associates
Frederick Clarkson has written about politics and religion for more than three decades. He broke the story about Project Blitz in the online magazine Religion Dispatches in 2018 and has continued to cover it since -- focusing on how it presents an integrated theocratic agenda and paths to get there.
He is the author or editor of several books, including Eternal Hostility: The Struggle Between Theocracy and Democracy. His articles have been anthologized in scholarly works, most recently, Trumping Democracy in the United States From Ronald Reagan to Alt-Right (Routledge, 2019).
He is often sought out by major media, from The Guardian to The New York Times to NPR. The late progressive journalist and Southern raconteur Joe Bageant, wrote in his book Deer Hunting with Jesus: Dispatches from America's Class War, “Fred Clarkson, a New England Yankee with a streak of liberty a mile wide, has been thinking and writing about this longer than anybody I know.”
